When is it time to repaint my home?

Many people decide to paint when they are purchasing a new home and want to change the color for a fresh start. A properly prepped interior job with high quality paint can last for 7-10+ years before showing any signs of fading. Living near the ocean, exteriors need to be repainted every 5-7 years in order to protect and preserve the siding, trim and/or stucco.

We typically use Benjamin Moore products for all of our interior/exterior work. We also use a few Sherwin Williams paints we use depending on the surface we are working with. Any bare wood will be primed first with either an alkyd or shellac primer.

We are a licensed home improvement contractor in the state of New Jersey. We carry both General Liability and Workers Compensation insurance. Our HIC license number is 13VH10028800.

Ideally, you should give us a call at least two weeks prior to needing the work finished so that we can provide you with an estimate, schedule the job, and complete the work on time. We have multiple crews painting every day so that we can complete jobs quickly and accommodate clients on a deadline.

Yes, we are able to provide a quote based on sq footage, pictures, and architectural plans. We prefer to meet in person to assess the space and discuss your vision for the project, but we understand that’s not always an option. We can give an estimate based on the information you provide.

Yes, we do require a deposit in order to hold your place on our schedule.

We normally aim to provide you with a quote via email within 48 hrs or 2 business days of the estimate. Our quotes are detailed, laying out exactly which areas are being painted and what products are being used.

Color selections can be provided when we begin the job. We start with the prep work so don’t worry if you still are deciding on a color.

We are always happy to lend our experience and expertise when it comes to choosing the right paint color. We also can work up samples and apply them in your home or business for an additional cost.

For interior painting, you can move small items and fragile things. We usually suggest that our clients take pictures or mirrors off the wall as well. We will move any heavier objects that we are unable to work around and cover everything in plastic and drop cloths.

To prepare for exterior painting, move small items like potted plants and furniture away from the house. We ask that you not park too close to your home to allow ladder access and turn your hose water on.

Whether it’s a small patch or a much larger repair, we can handle any and all drywall work. This will be outlined in our estimate as well.

We are able to utilize our affiliate company “Blue Heron Builders” to handle any carpentry repairs, crown moulding installation, and trim/door replacement you may need.

A house that is roughly 2500 sq. ft. will take approximately 5-7 days to repaint, depending on the intricacies and level of prep required. We try to work in crews of 2-4 to provide a high level of detail work while also getting your job done in a timely manner.

We always leave any paint left over with our clients so they can be used for touch-ups if needed down the road.
